Nestled along the shore of picturesque Pleasant Lake lies the best chophouse in the Dartmouth-Lake Sunapee region. The Oak Room seamlessly blends old world charm with contemporary cooking and the region’s finest ingredients in a beautifully updated 1790’s New England farmhouse. Featuring perfectly charred steaks and chops alongside delectable seafood dishes and locally sourced produce, all paired perfectly with a robust wine list and handcrafted classics like our specialty martinis and manhattans. At the core of it all is a team committed to heartfelt care, ensuring each guest arrives to a warm welcome and departs eager to return.
Menus
We start with the finest cuts of meat found anywhere in the Dartmouth-Lake Sunapee region. We serve only Certified Humane® Natural Black Angus Beef, pasture raised, and grain finished, sustainably raised and humanely processed. Locally sourced vegetables and ingredients and sustainably sourced seafoods round out our offerings, including delightful rotating vegan, vegetarian, and pescatarian dishes, ensuring the menu always has something for everyone. All sauces, menu components, and desserts are made in-house from scratch. Gluten Free and Dairy Free options are always available, and all dietary restrictions are accommodated whenever possible.
Beverage Program
The Oak Room features nearly 100 wines by the bottle, selected by our in-house sommelier and focused on familiar steakhouse classics like California Cabernets and Bordeaux-style blends. The bar offers a range of local microbrews and European classics, as well as a healthy selection of whiskies, amaro’s, and after dinner drinks alongside an expertly crafted selection of classic cocktails and playful house variations like our signature ‘Black and Bleu Martini’. Insider Tip: arrive early for a pre-dinner cocktail or glass of bubbles in the charming adjacent Parlor Room or while watching the sunset on Mt. Kearsarge from our Tivoli lit garden patio.

The Oak Room Private Dining
For groups of 10-80, The Oak Room ensures the dining experience for you and your guests is a seamless one, so that you can spend more time socializing and less time fretting over who is ordering what. We offer three and four course prix fixe options that will make your next event memorable and special. The Oak Room and Inn at Pleasant Lake are the perfect place for events both intimate and grand, for groups 0f 2-200. Bridal and baby showers, birthdays, celebrations of life, wedding receptions, family get togethers, office parties, business meetings or just an excuse to bring your friends together for a beautiful meal and grand evening, The Oak Room accommodates private parties in our Sun Room for up to 30, in our Main Dining Room for up to 50, and full restaurant buyouts for up to 80 people seated. Outdoor seated dinners for up to 40 are available on our back patio, as well as cocktail receptions in our Parlor Room. Overnight accomodations are available at Inn at Pleasant Lake, as well as our sister-property, The New London Inn.
